OPERATING CATEGORIE

Voyages along the coastline, but restricted to a sea area located at a distance not exceeding 200 nautical miles, measured from the main land and/or from off-shore islands situated at a distance not exceeding 400 nautical miles from the main land and/or from another island.

COMMUNICATION

The builder will strive to keep good and regular communication with the owner at every stage of the construction process. To farther assist the communication process, the builder welcomes and encourages the owner to provide an owner's representative or project manager, should the need arrise.

VARIATIONS TO SPECIFICATION

Every possible step will be taken to avoid the complication of variations and changes to existing structures. If, during the construction any detail is changed by the owner, his representative or the designer, and this variation will cause an increase in the cost and a delay in the construction time, the owner will be notified and shall approve the estimated increase in writing before such a variation is carried out.

SHIP'S OPERATION MANUALS

A set of volumes comprising the operating manuals is to be supplied in duplicate. One set to be installed in an appropriate stowage on board and one to be kept by the builder to assist in enquiries for technical advise.

The manuals are to include:

  • Owner's manuals for bought in equipment
  • Electric wiring diagrams of all circuits
  • Plumbing layouts
  • Hydraulic and fuel system layouts
  • Tank capacities
  • Docking plan
  • Full set of construction plans
  • A list of machinery installed, including information on the manufacturer, type, identification number, to simplify the order of spares
  • Lubrication and hydraulic oil schedule
  • Maintenance schedule

It is strongly recommended that the owner's technical representative is directly involved with generating these manuals.

WARRANTY

The yacht and its equipment shall be warranted against defects of workmanship and materials for a period of twelve months from the date of the yacht's commission. This warranty shall be limited to the replacement or repair of parts or materials which, despite normal maintenance, have been found to be defective. Consequential damages are excluded.
With respect to this warranty, the builder's responsibility for owner supplied material covers correct installation of such materials and correct maintenance while they were in the care of the builder.

CLIENT SUPPLIED ITEMS

The builder shall take delivery of the client supplied items on a "just in time" basis and shall store them safely and securely.

TRIALS

Before the acceptance of the yacht by the owner a series of trials with the owner and/or Ms representative, the builder and the designer will be carried out. Mechanical systems and other equipment are to be demonstrated and conformity to specifications checked.

STRUCTURE

GENERAL

The yacht hull are to be designed and moulded of composite laminated epoxy resin and high quality E-glass fiber (alternate layers of chopped strand mat (CSM) and/or bi-directional woven roving) by the hand lay-up method in single skin construction from female moulds.
Fibre orientation and overlaps are to be the designer's specifications.
The yacht deck and superstructure are to be designed and built of waterproof plywood covered FRP skin.
The builder will ensure the overall watertight integrity of the yacht. Air ventilation ducts such as engine room air and galley vent will be fitted with adequate baffles and storm shutters.
Care will be taken to ensure that all lines are faired accurately, to maximize the aesthetic appeal of the finished yacht.

All plywood used in the construction will be waterproof ply.
Foam cored plywood and GRP-panels will be used wherever possible, in order to keep the interior module weight lows without sacrificing structural integrity of the yacht.

The hull is moulded with conventional foam filled longitudinal stringer construction. All stringers are reinforced with the use of unidirectional E-Glass.

STEERING GEAR

GENERAL

The yacht is steered with hydraulic steering system equipped with dual station.

STEERING WHEELS

The wheels will be custom made. A stainless steel rims with a layer of plastic is supported by 6 polished stainless steel spokes.

RUDDER

The rudder configuration is that of a balanced spade rudder with an efficient foil-shape and a fine trailing edge. The blade is built from stainless steel.

RUDDER-SHAFT AND BEARINGS

The rudder-shaft is made of stainless steel. The rudder-bearings are made of bronze with a upper bearing and a lower sealed bearing.

EMERGENCY TILLER

The emergency tiller is fabricated of stainless steel and locks directly into the rudder.

MOORING EQUIPMENT

GENERAL

Provision will be made to store one anchor on the bow. The vertical windlass is recessed in a well on the foredeck.

ANCHOR WINDLASS

A Vetus URSUS 10 vertical windlass, incorporating a drum and a chain gypsy.

BOWROLLERS

Bow rollers will be incorporated in the stemhead fitting.

ANCHORS

30 kg CQR with 45 meters of 10 mm galvanized chain to be stored in the forward chain locker.
25 kg Danforth with 15 meters of 12 mm galvanized chain.

MOORING CLEATS

Pairs of mooring cleats will be mounted in the bow area, midship and on the aft deck.

PROPULSION PLANT

GENERAL

Equipment are to be installed to the highest standards of marine engineering, providing easy access where necessary. The engine room bilge under the engine is a separate sealed compartment to prevent oil etc getting into the main bilge. Operating Manuals are to be provided for all mechanical equipment.

ENGINES

The propulsion machinery consists of a two ÇÄ12Í-520 diesel engines developing 520 HP at 1500 rpm.

TRANSMISSION

"V" gearboxes are fitted to the engines.

STERNGEAR

The three bladed 600 mm propellers will be fitted to a 60 mm stainless steel propeller shafts. Zinc anodes are to be fitted.

SHAFT BRACKETS

The propeller shafts are held in a welded stainless steel brackets, which is thrubolted i to the hull.

RAW WATER COOLING

Is supplied through two seawater strainers, interconnected by a valved 50 mm pipe and accessible for regular inspection and cleaning. Each one can be shut off individually to facilitate cleaning without interrupting sea water supply.

ACCESSORIES

A 50 amp 24 v alternator will be fitted to the engine.

EXHAUST PIPES

The engines exhausts are connected to an epoxy water trap in the engine-room bilge from where it will be in rubber steam hose to the stem.

CONTROLS

A key switch, manual stop and the following gauges will be displayed on panels in the main cabin and upper deck:
• tachometer
• oil temperature
• oil pressure
• and etc.

FUEL SYSTEM

GENERAL

The fuel system conforms to the best marine practices. Junctions in pipes are kept to a minimum, and those that are unavoidable are mounted in readily accessible and visible locations.

ENGINE PRE'FILTERS

A engine pre-filters will be installed complete with water alarm.

GENERATOR PRE-FILTER

A generator pre-filters will be installed complete with water alarm.

FUEL INLET SYSTEM

Two recessed deck-fillers will be fitted close to the maximum beam on both sides. The filler pipe is a "U" pipe of generous diameter from which any one of the fuel tanks can be filled.
The deck fillers with watertight "screw in" cap are clearly marked "DIESEL-FUEL". The inlet pipe into the tanks are cut off obliquely and are mounted close to one side of the tank to minimize foaming of the diesel while filling.

FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

A fuel distribution manifold will have valves connections to all the tanks.

FUEL PIPING

Fuel piping is stainless steel piping in the engine-room.

TANK GAUGES

All tanks are provided with a system tank gauge.

FRESH WATER PLUMBING

GENERAL

The plumbing layout will be done in the way of three ring mains -one for cold fresh water, one for hot fresh water and one for sea water to allow the toilets to be switched to sea water via X-over connections should the need arrise. The ringmains will be mounted on pipe hangers just below the stringer at worktop level to allow easy access to joints from within lockers. The piping will be installed neatly in a way that flowpaths can be appreciated easily and to avoid tight bends and torturous routing. Water piping will be done in PVC, with welded joints and special compression fittings.
The tanks and plumbing will be securely installed. The tanks will be seated in foam and will be held down by floor bearers. Inspection covers with the biggest possible opening will be provided in all tanks.

WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Deck filler on centreliner will feed a distribution manifold. The manifold will have valves outlets to each fresh water tank.

FRESH WATER PRESSURE SYSTEM

A pressurized water system by way of a pump with 50 L expansion tank is installed. Water is distributed to all heads, the galley and to a fresh water deckwash. An emergency foot pump for fresh water and sea water supply will be fitted in the galley.

PIPING

Piping is of the highest quality materials PVC and will be laid out in the most functional manner possible, with easy access and clearly indicated flow-paths.

COLOUR CODING

Piping will be colour coded or clearly marked indicating contents and direction of flow.

Unless differently specified by the owner or his representative the colour coding will be the following:

TANKS - FRESH WATER

Yacht are equipped of two stainless steel tanks with a total capacity of 900. All tanks are fitted with breather pipes.
All tanks are fitted with large, sealed inspection hatches with adequate access for interior inspection.

SHOWERS AND SINK DRAINAGE

Showers and sinks will drain into grey water tanks fitted with a watertight inspection hatch. Three 24V DC electric pumps are installed with automatic or manual controls pumping into the main grey water tank via a anti-syphon bend.

TOILETS

All toilets on board will be marine type toilets.

SEA WATER SYSTEM

GENERAL

Bilge pump suction pipes are mounted in easily accessible positions wherever possible. Seawater inlets are fitted with filters.

PUMP MOUNTING

All pumps are mounted on rubber anti-vibration mountings and connections and piping are flexibly mounted to minimize noise transmission and vibration into the yacht structure.

BILGE PUMPS

A 24V DC bilge pump is connected to a manifold to pump out all bilges. The main bilge will be equipped with manual bilge pumps. A main engine powered pump is fitted and also linked into the manifold.

BILGE SYSTEM

All structural elements will have large diameter limber holes wherever necessary to allow bilge water to collect at a central point from where it can be discharged. Bilge water from aft accommodation is led through the engine room in ducts, keeping the engine room a self-contained compartment.

SEACOCKS

All through-hull inlet or outlets below the water line are of stainless steel and will be equipped with seacocks in readily accessible positions.

INTERIOR ARRANGEMENT

GENERAL

The interior layout is a four cabin layout according to the interior layout drawings.

MATERIALS

To optimize the yacht's weight distribution, foam cored plywood and glass panels are used where suitable and possible.

BULKHEADS

All bulkheads are ply/foam panels. Where possible concealed wiring ducts will be incorporated in the bulkheads.

WARDROBES AND CUPBOARDS

Interior of cupboards and wardrobes will make provision for hanging rails, fitted storage racks, bookshelves and drawers where necessary.
Storage will be provided wherever space is suitable to maximize storage capacity.

GALLEY EQUIPMENT

The galley stove is 4 burner stove with an oven. Two deep stainless steel sinks are set in a Corian work-too.

MIRRORS

Mirrors will be fitted in all head-compartments and inside locker doors in the cabins (Removable).

ELECTRICS

GENERAL

The on-board electric system will be 24 V DC and 220 V AC. The wiring layout and switchboard are designed to the highest standards of marine engineering using superior quality materials and components.

WIRING

Tinned copper wire is used throughout, and will be led in closed conduits.

GENERATOR

3 KVA generator.
BATTERY CHARGER
1 x 100 Ah battery charger for service batteries
1 x 20 Ah battery charger for Nav batteries 1 x 100 Ah engine driven alternator for service battery banks.

SWITCH-BOARD

The switch-board is coated aluminium panel clearly labelled for each circuit. Carlingswitch or equivalent circuit-breakers are used throughout. Spare circuits will be provided.

SHORE POWER

One off shore supply socket will be fitted and a length of shore power cable will be supplied.

AC MAIN

A 220 V 50 Hertz single phase AC main will run in the boat. The circuit can be fed by shore-power or generator. Shore supply voltage is monitored by a reverse polarity warning device.

BATTERIES

24 V DC 500 A/H (Shipsload) 24 VDC 180 A/H (Navigation) 24 VDC 120 A7H (Starting) 12 VDC 60 A/H (Gen start)

INTERIOR LIGHTING

Interior lights will be equipped with dimmers in the saloon. Flexible spot-lights will be provided at the navigation station.

CABIN LIGHTING

There will be concealed lighting in addition to the direct over-head lighting. Reading lights will be provided at each bunk.

NAVIGATION LIGHTS

Two navigation lights (port and starboard) Stem Lights Anchor Light.

INSTRUMENT LIGHTING

The instruments are internally illuminated normally in red to prevent loss of night-vision.

In the selection of electronic equipment, the choice will be based on reliability, serviceability and value.

FINISHES

GENERAL

Paint work is spray-finished. Interior varnish work will be in satin finish.

TOP SIDES

External surfaces above water line are finished in marine paints.

BOTTOM

The bottom is faired to the same standard as the rest of the yacht. An epoxy coat will be applied prior to anti-fouling.

BILGES

An flow coat will be applied to all areas inside prior to the installation of tanks, plumbing and through hull fittings.

DECK

All exposed surfaces on the deck will be painted with high-gloss Polyurethane. Horizontal surfaces will be finished in non-slip.

INTERIOR

All veneered surfaces will be finished in satin gloss with a minimum of 6 coats. Heads and galley will be finished in satin gloss Polyurethane.

METAL WORK

All stainless steel will be polished with no welds visibles. All aluminium surfaces will be anodized.

SECURITY EQUIPMENT

GENERAL

Special care will be taken to provide the highest possible standard in safety. Emergency equipment will be provided and positioned to internationally accepted specifications.

Twelve red parachute flares

Two orange smoke canisters

FIRST AID KIT

A suitable First Aid Kit for this size yacht will be supplied.

LIFE-RAFT

A 10 - man life-raft will be positioned in a well on the aft deck. A removable lid closes off the compartment.

LIFE-VESTS

Eight internationally approved life-vests will have a fixed storage space on board.

FIRE PREVENTION

Two fire extinguishers will be provided. One will be fitted easily accessible to the galley, and one adjacent to the engine-room capable of being discharged externally into the engine-room compartment.

INVENTORY

GENERAL

It is the intention to supply the yacht suitable equipped for its intended use.

ELECTRIC SPARES

Two spare light bulbs for each model will be provided.

PLUMBING SPARES

Spare sets of washers, seals etc ... will be included.

TOOLS/STOWAGE

Stowage arrangements for a owner supplied tool-kit will be provided.

GALLEY EQUIPMENT

Storage space for galley equipment to be supplied by the owner, will be customized to ensure safe and secure stowage.

BOARDING LADDER

A boarding ladder will be provided.

FOGHORN

A air-propelled foghorn will be included.

COMMISSIONING

GENERAL

The yacht will be launched and commissioned to the satisfaction of the owner and designer. The over-all performance will be checked under power, related to the designer's predictions.

DOCUMENTATION

Necessary documentation concerning bought-in items will be filed and handed to the owner.

TRIALS

The trials of the yacht will be carried out in accordance with a checklist, which will include:

A) MAIN ENGINE

The engine will be checked for:
• smooth, vibration-free operation
• oil pressure
• fuel flow
• starting (hot & cold)
• correct running at normal angles of heel
• stem gear and correct propeller pitch.

B) GENERATOR SET

Comprehensive trials will be carried out at normal full load conditions.

C) SWITCH-BOARD

All electric circuits will be checked for polarity and run individually for prolonged periods to check capacity and adequate heat dissipation.

D) AC SYSTEM

AC system will be tested to maximum specified load.

E) NAVIGATION GEAR

All electronic aids will be tested over a prolonged period of time after calibration to ensure correct and reliable operation. Compasses will be swung and deviation tables supplied.

F) COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

Transceivers will be checked that performance is in accordance with makers specifications.

H) GROUND TACKLE

All ground tackle, including windlass, will be checked for problem-free operation.

I) STEERING

Correct, sensitive operation of the steering gear will be checked in ahead and astern. The use of the emergency tiller will be demonstrated.
